05.03.2023

Brooks Pierce partners Jessi Thaller-Moran and Bryan Starrett presented a labor and employment webinar on Wednesday, May 24 about employer considerations for addressing misconduct or performance issues.

The webinar, “When Employees Go Rogue: Balancing Egos, Erstwhile Conduct, and Employment Laws,” focused on employer considerations for responding to employee misconduct, whistleblower activity, internal investigations and more.

The full session can be viewed here.

Thaller-Moran focuses her practice on employment law and litigation, which includes counseling employers on legal compliance and helping them proactively identify, prepare for and respond to issues involving personnel management. She guides employers on appropriate responses to a rapidly-changing workplace. Over the last few years, this has included counseling through the rapid transitions required by the COVID-19 pandemic and responding to increasingly localized laws on everything from job postings to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. She also advocates for employers before enforcement agencies and in state and federal courts.

Starrett has a unique background as a litigator, employment lawyer, and in-house generalist for a new public company. This combination of experience gives him an invaluable perspective for understanding how a legal issue fits within clients’ business operations and goals, and how to provide thoughtful and practical counsel to clients. Starrett has represented clients in matters involving shareholder rights, corporate governance, antitrust, breaches of contract, covenants not to compete, employment discrimination, personal and business torts and constitutional litigation.

Brooks Pierce is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®.
