Brooks Pierce is a sponsor of NC TECH’s TechFest North Carolina conference on May 13–14 at the Durham Convention Center. Brooks Pierce partner Will Quick will participate in the cybersecurity breakout session panel, “Words Matter: Communicating Cybersecurity Readiness, Risk and Reality Panel.” Other panelists include Jennifer Fix, Deputy State Chief Information Security Officer at NC DIT; Manny Landron, Chief Information Security Officer at Enact Mortgage Insurance; Chuck Kesler, Chief Information Security Officer at Pendo; Keith Stouder, Virtual Chief Information Security Officer Practice Lead at Stern Security; Amy Worley, Head of Global Information Compliance Advisory at BRG. The panel session will examine cybersecurity as a business and trust signal—covering sales and marketing claims, executive and board communications, investor expectations, incident notifications, and the legal risks of saying too much, too little, or the wrong thing. Attendees will leave with practical guidance on aligning cyber messaging with compliance obligations, risk tolerance, and operational realities.
