Four Brooks Pierce Partners Named to Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under Hot List”

The 2020 edition of Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under Hot List” recognized Brooks Pierce partners Clint Morse, Justin Outling, Will Quick and Craig Schauer as leaders in the legal profession. The award recognizes the achievements of the nation’s most accomplished legal partners aged forty or younger. Benchmark Litigation employs a thorough process of peer review and matter examination to select the annual list.

Morse is an experienced litigator who thrives in the courtroom. He represents a wide range of clients on issues related to intellectual property, bankruptcy and general corporate disputes. Morse has been selected for Benchmark Litigation's "Under 40 Hot List" for the past three years.

Outling focuses his practice on business litigation and white-collar criminal defense. He helps businesses and professionals in a variety of industries, and has successfully brought and defended lawsuits in a wide range of matters. Outling received the North Carolina Bar Association’s Citizen Lawyer Award for 2019 and was selected by his peers for inclusion in Business North Carolina's "Legal Elite” in the Young Guns category in 2018. He also serves on the Greensboro City Council, representing District 3.

Quick has a diverse litigation and regulatory practice, representing businesses and local governments in trial and appellate matters and before state agencies in North Carolina and South Carolina. He also advises clients on the design and implementation of data privacy policies and assists with breach response when necessary. Quick is a Board Certified Specialist in Privacy and Information Security Law from the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization. In 2019, he was recognized as one of the American Bar Association’s On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers and he has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly in 2019 and 2020.

Schauer helps clients identify and solve a wide variety of problems, ranging from small legal questions to large constitutional lawsuits. He assists clients in resolving issues with contractual disputes, government regulations, business torts and unfair competition. Schauer also works with clients on questions concerning permissible political activity, election laws and First Amendment rights. In 2019, he was selected by his peers for inclusion in Business North Carolina's "Legal Elite" in the Young Guns category.
