Brooks Pierce Welcomes Four New Associates

Leading North Carolina law firm Brooks Pierce is excited to announce that four new associates, Chris Dodd, Locke Ho, Rob Levin and Christiane Smedley, have joined the firm.

“We are excited to welcome these four talented young attorneys to our firm,” said Brooks Pierce managing partner Reid Phillips. “Chris, Locke, Rob and Christiane all have unique backgrounds and will help us bring new perspectives to our clients. They are great additions to our team.”

Chris Dodd focuses his practice on commercial litigation, intellectual property law and white-collar criminal defense. He works with companies conducting internal investigations and represents businesses and individuals in high-stakes litigation in federal and state courts. Dodd earned his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and his juris doctor from Duke University School of Law. He is based in the firm’s Raleigh office.

Also based in Raleigh, Locke Ho focuses his practice on complex litigation in state and federal courts. Building on his experiences externing at the Federal Trade Commission and a U.S. District Court, he also provides services for matters involving media law, antitrust and intellectual property. Ho earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his juris doctor from the University of California Berkeley School of Law.

Rob Levin represents owners, developers, investors, and lenders with the acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate. Prior to joining Brooks Pierce, he was a judicial extern to the Honorable David R. Duncan for the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of South Carolina. Levin earned his bachelor’s degree from Wofford College, his master’s degree from Emory University and his juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is based in the firm’s Greensboro office.

Christiane Smedley focuses her practice on intellectual property, media and communications, corporate business, and music and entertainment. She represents businesses of all kinds, as well as individuals in the entertainment and advertising industries. Smedley earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama and her juris doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law. She is based in the firm’s Raleigh office.
